Marissa Nadler, born on April 5, 1981, in Washington D.C., is an American
singer-songwriter and guitarist. She began her musical journey as a teenager,
teaching herself to play guitar and writing songs as a hobby. In 2004, she
released her debut album Ballads of Living and Dying on Eclipse Records, marking
the start of her professional music career. Nadler's subsequent albums include
The Saga of Mayflower May (2005), Songs III: Bird on the Water (2007), and
