Mark Harvey
Mark Harvey, born Mark Sumner Harvey on 4 July 1946 in Binghamton, New York, is
an American jazz trumpeter and composer. He studied American Studies at Syracuse
University, then theology at Boston University while attending the New England
Conservatory under Jaki Byard and George Russell. He was ordained as a minister
in 1970. In 1973, he founded the Aardvark Jazz Orchestra, recording albums such
as Paintings for Jazz Orchestra (1993) and The Seeker (2000). He has
collaborated with Gil Evans, Vinny Golia, and Sheila Jordan, received ASCAP and
