Mark Levine
Mark Levine, born October 4, 1938 in Concord, New Hampshire, was an American
jazz pianist and trombonist. He began his musical career in Daytona Beach,
attended Boston University, and later studied under Hall Overton, Herb Pomeroy,
and Jaki Byard. Levine's early collaborations included working with Houston
Person on Underground Soul (1966) and Mongo Santamaría from 1969 to 1970. He
later moved to San Francisco in the mid-1970s, where he collaborated with
notable artists such as Art Pepper, Woody Shaw, and Cal Tjader. Levine released
