Marlon Jordan is an American jazz and hard bop trumpeter, composer, and
bandleader born on August 21, 1970, in New Orleans. The son of saxophonist
Edward "Kidd" Jordan, Jordan began playing trumpet in fourth grade and graduated
from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. He released his debut album, For
You Only, in 1988, which featured Branford Marsalis and reached number 7 on the
Billboard charts. Jordan toured with his quintet at venues such as the Blue Note
