Marta Dias, born in Lisbon, Portugal, is a Portuguese singer known for her work
in jazz and fado. She began singing as a teenager at the Teatro de Animação de
Setúbal in Portugal. Her first professional recordings were with General D on
his album Pé Na Tchôn, Karapinha Na Céu (EMI-1995). In 1996, Dias released her
debut solo album, YUE, produced by Jonathan Miller. She was nominated for Best
Female Voice at the Blitz Awards in 1997. Dias collaborated extensively with
guitarist António Chainho, releasing the live album Ao Vivo No CCB (2003). In
