Masatoshi Mashima (真島昌利), born on February 20, 1962, in Hino, Japan, is a
Japanese guitarist, lyricist, and composer. Early exposure to the local music
scene led him to join the punk‑rock band, The Blue Hearts, in 1985, where he
performed under the nickname “Mashi.” His first notable solo releases included
Natsu no Nukegara (1989), followed by Happy Songs (1991), and Raw Life (1992).
In 1994, he added Hito ni wa Sorezore Jijō ga Aru to his discography. After The
