Matija Dedić, born on 2 March 1973 in Zagreb, was a Croatian jazz pianist and composer, and the son of singer Gabi Novak and singer-songwriter Arsen Dedić. After graduating from the jazz academy in Graz in 1997, he returned to Croatia and became one of the country's leading jazz musicians. He led the Matija Dedić Trio and collaborated with artists including Benny Golson, Kenny Burrell, Larry Grenadier, Jeff Ballard, and Tamara Obrovac.
