Matthew Carl Lien, born May 10, 1965, in San Diego, California, is a Canadian
singer-songwriter and producer whose music often focused on environmental
themes. He taught himself piano at 10 and moved to Dezadeash Lake, Yukon, at age
16. His first recorded song was "Kecia's Song", inspired by a friend's death.
Lien's breakthrough came with Bleeding Wolves (1995), which achieved
multi-platinum status in Taiwan. Subsequent albums include Confluence (1997) and
Voyage to Paradise (1999). His popularity in Taiwan significantly increased,
