Matthew Taylor, born on December 6, 1964 in London, is an English composer and
conductor. He studied composition at Queens' College, Cambridge University,
Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the Royal Academy of Music, receiving
guidance from Robin Holloway, Robert Simpson, and Sir Malcolm Arnold. As a
conductor, Taylor trained under Robin Page, Vilém Tauský, and Leonard Bernstein.
Taylor has conducted notable orchestras, including the English Chamber Orchestra
and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, recording for Hyperion Records and Dutton.
