Mattiel's self-titled debut album was released in 2017, featuring a
retro-leaning rock & roll sound inspired by the 1960s music that had previously
filled Mattiel Brown's childhood home. Raised on a farm in Brooks, Georgia,
Brown grew up listening to her parents' record collection, including classic
releases by the Rolling Stones, the Monkees, Cher, and the Blue Magoos. She
later moved to Atlanta, where she worked as a graphic designer while
