Gene McFadden and John Whitehead, known as McFadden & Whitehead, were an
American R&B duo from Philadelphia. They met in the 1960s and initially formed a
group called The Epsilons before signing a small record deal with Stax Records
in 1967. After touring with Otis Redding until his death that year and releasing
"The Echo" in 1970, they changed their name to Talk of the Town and worked with
Gamble/Huff on their North Bay label. By this time, McFadden & Whitehead were
