Michael Cohen, born in 1951, was an American singer-songwriter from New York
City. His career began with the release of his self-titled debut album in 1973.
This was followed by What Did You Expect? later that year and Some Of Us Had To
Live in 1976. Influenced by Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, he was known for his
raw and emotional songs like "The Last Angry Young Man", which deals with
misconceptions around homosexuality, and "Gone", which reflects on the death of
a gay friend. Cohen passed away in November 1997.
