Pierre Michel Nigro, known professionally as Michael Fortunati, is an
Italian-born singer, songwriter, and composer. Born on September 4, 1955, in
Villa Castelli, Italy, Nigro grew up in Hem, France, where he formed the group
Carré d'as with his brothers in the 1970s. The band released records until 1985.
Nigro then began a solo career under the pseudonym Michael Fortunati and
achieved international success with the debut single “Give Me Up” in the summer
