Michael Messer
Michael Messer, born on February 28, 1956 in Middlesex, England, is an English
singer-songwriter, slide guitarist, recording artist, producer, and guitar
designer/manufacturer. He began his career playing rock and roll and in local
bands before moving to the United States in his early 20s. Influenced by country
music performances, he returned to England and taught himself delta blues on a
National steel guitar he purchased in 1979. Messer formed a working relationship
with Ed Genis after meeting in 1983, collaborating on Ian A. Anderson's album
