Michael Speaks, born 1977 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, is an American singer.
Inspired by his brother's piano playing and his father's preaching, Michael
Speaks began performing in a gospel choir at a young age. He formed the group
Christian Brothers at ten years old, which performed in local churches. After
moving to New York City, he sang in subway stations, catching the attention of
East West Records executives following a performance at the Apollo Theater. His
debut single "Whatever You Need" reached number 85 on the US R&B chart. Michael
