Mirri Lobo
Emílio Rito de Sousa Lobo, known as Mirri Lobo, and born on 22 May 1960 in Pedra
de Lume on Sal, Cape Verde, is a singer, musician, producer, and composer. After
completing military service in Praia in 1981, he returned to Sal and joined
Clave do Sal. In 1982, he won the Todo o Mundo Canta contest, placing first
locally and second nationally. His debut album Alma Violão (1987) launched the
single "Bela" to the top of Cape Verde radio charts. Subsequent releases
included Paranoia (1992) and Matchamor (1996). He released Caldera Preta in
