Mohammad Reza Lotfi
Mohammad-Reza Lotfi was an Iranian classical musician who was born in Gorgan,
Iran, in 1947. He is famous for his mastery of the tar and setar and for
revitalizing Persian traditional music through the combination of classical and
folk elements. Lotfi achieved early professional recognition in 1964 after
winning the first prize in Iran's Young Musicians Festival. He studied at the
Persian National Music Conservatory and later served as a faculty member at the
