Mongrel was a British supergroup formed in 2008, founded by former Arctic
Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson. The group included Joe Moskow of Reverend and
The Makers, Drew McConnell from Babyshambles, and London rapper Lowkey. Their
debut album, Better Than Heavy, was released in 2009, and notably given away for
free with copies of The Independent newspaper. The album featured a
collaboration with Saul Williams and a dub version remixed by Adrian Sherwood at
On-U Sound Studios. In 2011, it was confirmed that Mongrel was a side project
and would not release any further music.
