Monica Lewis
Monica Lewis, born May Lewis on May 2, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, was an
American singer and actress. After moving to New York City as a child due to the
Great Depression, she began singing on radio and later led her own program. In
1943, Benny Goodman hired her after Peggy Lee's departure, leading to national
broadcasts like The Revere Camera Show and hits such as "Put the Blame on Mame"
and "I Wish You Love". In 1947, she became the voice of Chiquita Banana for
