Mônica Salmaso, born on February 27, 1971, in São Paulo, Brazil, is a singer
known for her contributions to música popular brasileira (MPB). She began her
career in 1989. Salmaso released her debut solo album Afro-Sambas (1995),
accompanied by classical guitarist Paulo Bellinati. She recorded “Felicidade”
with Bellinati for the album Tom Jobim Songbook (1996). She was nominated for
the 1997 Sharp Awards as Revelation singer in the MPB category. She released
