Moor Mother
Camae Ayewa, better known as Moor Mother, is a musician, producer, performer and
poet born in Aberdeen, Maryland, on November 19, 1981. She studied photography
at the Philadelphia Art Institute, before devoting herself to music. Also known
as Moor Mother Goddess or Camae Defstar, her albums are an inventive blend of
poetry, rap, jazz and electronica. After a homonymous debut recording released
in 2015, Manufacture of Indigo (the same year) and Fetish Bones (2016) followed,
