Moses Hogan
Moses George Hogan (1957–2003) was an American composer, choral arranger, and
pianist from New Orleans, specializing in African-American spirituals. After
training at the Xavier University Junior School of Music and New Orleans Center
for Creative Arts, Hogan graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in
1979. He won first place at the 28th Annual Kosciuszko Foundation Chopin
Competition and studied at the Juilliard School. In 1980, Hogan formed the New
