A German rock band influenced by the punk movement, Muff Potter was formed in
Rheine in 1993 around guitarist and singer Thorsten "Nagel" Nagelschmidt. Taking
their name from a character in Mark Twain's novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
(1876), the band recorded a demo cassette the following year, before releasing
their first vinyl-only album of the same name, Muff Potter (1996). After the
departure of drummer Mongo, replaced by Thorsten Brameier in 1994, the band
