(Nana Darkman)
Nana Kwame Abrokwa, or Nana for short, was born on October 5, 1968 in Accra,
Ghana, and grew up in Hamburg from the age of ten. In the early 1990s, he began
working as a DJ and rapper under the name MC Africa True. In 1994, he joined the
Eurodance project Darkness, but soon left it again. His stage name Darkman dates
from this time. In 1996, Nana released his first single "Darkman", which reached
number 9 in the German charts. With the follow-up single "Lonely", he achieved a
