Nathaniel Charles Gonella, known as Nat Gonella, and born on March 7, 1908, in Islington, North London, was an English jazz trumpeter, bandleader, vocalist, and mellophonist. He started his professional career in 1924 with Archie Pitt’s Busby Boy's Band and discovered the music of Louis Armstrong. In 1935, Gonella formed the Georgians, a big band that became popular before World War II. He joined the army in 1941 and toured allied camps.
