Nomfusi Gotyana, born in 1988 in KwaZakhele, Eastern Cape, South Africa, is a
South African Afro-soul singer and songwriter. Her musical roots were shaped by
her mother, Kwazibani, who was a sangoma. She began her career in 2008,
performing with her backing band, the Lucky Charms. She released her debut
single, “Uthando Lwam (Qam Qam)”, in 2008, followed by “Nontsokolo” in 2009,
