Tanya Pointer, known professionally as Nonchalant, is an American rapper and
singer born on October 18, 1970, in Washington, D.C. She began her career in the
East Coast rap scene, gaining initial recognition with her debut single "5
O'Clock" released in February 1996. The track peaked at Number 24 on the US
Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold by the RIAA for sales exceeding 500,000
copies. It also reached Number 44 in the UK Singles Chart in June 1996.
