After leaving Metronomy in 2009, Gabriel Stebbing formed the quartet Your
Twenties, featuring his half-brother Michael Lovett. After the band's failure,
Lovett launched a solo career under the name NZCA/Lines, in reference to the
famous Nazca drawings in Peru. The dandy multi-instrumentalist was spotted in
September 2009 with the track "Compass Points", with its strong synth pop
references. Produced by Metronomy's sound engineer Ash Workman, NZCA/Lines'
homonymous debut album, released in February 2012, offers a glimpse of the
band's mannered electro pop.
