The British indie-rock band Pale Waves formed in 2014 in Manchester, where
frontwoman Heather Baron-Gracie and drummer Ciara Doran both attended the
British And Irish Modern Music Institute. The students initially billed
themselves as Creek, adopting the Pale Waves moniker after adding guitarist Hugo
Silvani and bassist Charlie Wood to the lineup. The band's dark,
1980s-influenced pop sound earned attention from the indie label Dirty Hit, who
