Born in Liverpool on June 18, 1942, Paul McCartney became a rock icon through
his membership of The Beatles, the legendary band he joined in 1957 and remained
with until their breakup in 1970. Singer, bassist, author and composer of a
multitude of classics in tandem with John Lennon, he notably penned the standard
