Paulette Tenae Carlson, also known as Paulette Carlson, born on October 11,
1952, is an American country music singer-songwriter. She started her career in
dance bars in Fargo, ND, and Minneapolis, MN, before moving to Nashville in
1978. In 1986, Carlson founded the country band Highway 101, which charted four
Number 1 hit singles and seven top-10 hits under Warner Bros. Records. She left
the group in 1991 and transitioned to a solo career, signing with Capitol
