Peter Beil, born on 9 July 1937 in Hamburg, was a German Schlager singer,
trumpeter, composer and bandleader. After studying classical trumpet at the
Staatliche Musikhochschule Hamburg and performing with the “Crazy Combo,” he
signed with Fontana and released his first successful single in 1961, a cover of
Ray Peterson’s "Corinna, Corinna" that became a charting hit, and his
pseudonymous single "Hello Mary‑Lou" which reached Number 1. In the 1960s he
recorded covers such as "Ein Lied Erklingt" (1967) and "Frage Die Liebe" (1970),
