The charismatic lead singer of Bauhaus from 1978 to 1983, Peter Murphy (born
Peter Jon Joseph Murphy in Northampton, July 11, 1957) went on to form the
short-lived Dali's Car with Mick Karn (Japan), before devoting himself to a solo
career that began in 1986 with Should the World Failed to Fall Apart. A
post-punk figure with theatrical vocals, he released six albums, including Love
Hysteria (1988), Deep (1990) and Holy Smoke (1992), until Bauhaus reformed on
