Pina Kollars, known mononymously as Pina, is a folk rock singer born in Vienna
who began writing songs in her teens. She studied classical guitar at the city's
conservatorium before moving to Cork, Ireland, in 1997. There, she formed a band
and played locally. Her breakthrough came supporting Ani DiFranco on tour and
collaborating with Afro Celt Sound System on "Go on Through" from Volume 3:
Further in Time. This led to her debut album, Quick Look, released by Peter
Gabriel’s Real World Records in 2002. Pina Kollars' second album, Guess You Got
It, followed in 2005.
