Real name Darryl Gibson, American rapper Positive K was born in New York's Bronx
district on August 9, 1967. Witnessing the birth of hip-hop at parties organized
by DJs Grandmaster Flash and Busy Bee, he formed the group Disco Cousins under
the name Baby Breeze, then joined Five-Percent Nation and Almighty God
Committee, before pursuing a solo career as Positive K. After a debut single in
1987, the rapper signed to First Priority Music teamed up with MC Lyte for the
hit "I'm Not Havin' It", which reached #16 on the rap charts in 1989, then left
