Queen of Japan
Queen of Japan is a German synthpop trio from Munich formed in 1999. The group
consists of vocalist Catriona Shaw (Koneko), guitarist Hans Platzgumer (Jo
Ashito), and bassist Albert Pöschl (Jason Arigato). They achieved professional
recognition for their synthpop and new wave covers of hits from the 1970s and
1980s, debuting with the extended play Mercury Rising (1999). Their recording
career includes cover versions of “I Love Rock 'n' Roll” and “Da Ya Think I'm
