Queensland Symphony Orchestra, based in Brisbane, Australia, was established in
1947. The orchestra began with 45 musicians under the direction of Percy Code
and John Farnsworth Hall as its first Chief Conductor. Initially touring
extensively across Queensland, the QSO's early years saw significant
contributions from conductors such as Rudolf Pekárek (1954–1967) and Muhai Tang
(1991–2001). In 2001, the orchestra merged with the Queensland Philharmonic
