Although the name didn’t come to the group for a couple of years, Revolverheld formed in Hamburg, Germany in 2003. Singer Johannes Strate, drummer Jakob Sinn, guitarists Niels Grötsch and Kristoffer Hünecke, and bass player Florian Speer seasoned themselves in the city’s rich punk scene, but they established themselves as rock stars with their debut album, 2005’s Revolverheld, which included their debut single, “Generation Rock” as well as a trio of top 20 hits—“Die Welt steht still”,“Mit dir chilln”, and “Freunde bleiben”, which would be Germany’s entry in the 2005 Eurovision So...
