Richard Peebles, known professionally as Rikki, was born in 1956 in Scotland and
established himself as a DJ and electronic music artist. Early in his career he
released the singles "Seven Days A Week" and "Bad Money" in 1985, which
introduced his style to the Scottish club scene. In 1987 he represented the
United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest with "Only the Light", a track he
both wrote and performed; the entry placed thirteenth out of twenty‑two with 47
points, marking the lowest UK result up to that time.
