Rise of the Northstar's unique brand of metalcore is influenced by punk, heavy
metal, rap-rock, hip-hop, and Japanese pop culture. The band was founded by
vocalist Vithia in 2008 in Paris, France. Vithia named the group after the
Japanese manga series Fist of the North Star and furthered the band's
connections to Japan by naming the band's debut EP Tokyo Assault. Arriving in
2010, Tokyo Assault was followed two years later by Demonstrating My Saiya
Style, with both EPs being released by the band's original label, Akatsuki
