Rissi Palmer, born August 19, 1981, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, is an American
singer. At age 16, she performed country music at the Arkansas State Fair. In
2007, Palmer debuted with the single "Country Girl", becoming the first
African-American woman to chart a country song since 1988. The single peaked at
number 54 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and was included in her
self-titled debut album, which also produced the Top 100 hit "Hold On to Me". In
