Formed in 2012, River Whyless are a neo-traditional folk four-piece from
Asheville, North Carolina. The band’s lineup consists of Daniel Shearin (bass,
vocals), Ryan O’ Keefe (guitar, vocals), Halli Anderson (violin, vocals), and
Alex McWalters (drums), all of whom were students at the Appalachian State
University. After graduating, they all relocated to Asheville and self-recorded
their independently-released studio debut A Stone, a Leaf, an Unfound Door in
2012. Following an eponymous EP released in 2015 via Backwoods Nation, River
Whyless signed with the indie label Roll Call ...
