Songwriter, guitarist, performer and founder of post-punk band The Soft Boys (1977-1980), Robyn Hitchcock (b. 1953) launched his solo career in 1981 with the album Black Diamond Snake Role, followed by Groovy Decay and I Often Dream of Trains.
