Songwriter, guitarist, performer and founder of post-punk band The Soft Boys (1977-1980), Robyn Hitchcock (b. 1953) launched his solo career in 1981 with the album Black Diamond Snake Role, followed by Groovy Decay and I Often Dream of Trains. Inspired by psychedelia and Syd Barrett in particular, this eccentric English rock dandy was appreciated by American alternative rock audiences for his sensibility, not devoid of British humor: Fegmania!
