Rocky Dawuni, born on January 22, 1969 in Ghana, is a singer and songwriter
known for his distinctive 'Afro Roots' sound. Dawuni's introduction to reggae
came during his childhood when he heard a military band play Bob Marley's
compositions at Camp Michel. Dawuni's early albums include Crusade (1998) and
Awakening (2001). His album, Branches of the Same Tree, was nominated for a
Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in December 2015, marking Ghana's first
