Born on January 28, 1963 in Martinique, Ronald Rubinel made a name for himself
in West Indian music in the 1970s. He worked mainly as a musician in Haitian
bands, perfecting his keyboard skills in soukouss rhythm. Inspired by kadans, he
leaned towards zouk in the early 1980s with his first album, Pollution (1981).
Naturally, he became involved in the creative scene of the time, appearing as a
musician with Kassav' and Compagnie Créole. With Zoulou (1986), Ronald Rubinel's
style evolves and becomes impregnated with African rhythms, alongside musicians
such as Aurius Mabele and Kic...
