Ryo Yamaguchi, known professionally as RYO the SKYWALKER, was born on 2 January
1974 in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, and is a singer specializing in world music. He
began his musical journey after visiting Jamaica in 1994, returning to Japan to
work as a DJ and releasing his debut 7‑inch single "Genba Shijyo Syugi" that
same year. His early collaborations included forming Tokiwa Dem Crew, which
disbanded in 1999, after which he gained attention through guest appearances
