Sam Dew

Born in Chicago, Illinois on January 13, 1987, Same Dew is a hip-hop and R&B singer/songwriter best known for writing the hook to Wale’s 2013 hit “LoveHate Thing”. He came to prominence as a member of Atlanta, Georgia-based band Cloudeater and appeared on their albums Sun and Sidearm (2011) and Purge (2013) before pursuing a career as a songwriter. While still a member of Cloudeater, his first foray as a songwriter for an outside artist was Wale’s 2011 single “Lotus Flower Bomb”, which rose to Number 1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart.
