Sebastião Tapajós
Sebastião Tapajós was born on April 16, 1943 in Alenquer, Brazil. He began
studying guitar at a young age after moving to Santarém. In 1964 he traveled to
Europe to study at the Conservatory of Music in Lisbon and later with Emilio
Pujol in Spain. Upon returning to Brazil, Tapajós taught at the Carlos Gomes
Conservatory in Belém until July 1967. He collaborated with notable artists such
as Hermeto Pascoal, Jane Duboc, and Astor Piazzolla. Tapajós composed the
soundtrack for the film Lendas Amazônicas in 1998 and released numerous albums,
including Xingú (1979) and Guitarra Crioll...
