Seong-Jin Cho was born in Seoul, South Korea, on May 28, 1994. He gave his first
concert at the age of twelve, and completed his musical training at the Paris
Conservatoire with Michel Béroff. In 2008, he won first prize at the
Frédéric-Chopin Competition for young pianists, and went on to win prizes at the
Hamamatsu Competition in Shizuoka (2009), the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow
(third prize in 2011) and the Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv (2014). Recital
