Matt Howden is a British violinist and singer born in 1967. He established the music project Sieben in 1997 in Sheffield, where he operated the Red Room studio. Originally a collaboration with vocalists including Sally Doherty, the project transitioned into a solo endeavor for Howden. He released the debut studio recording Forbid the Sun’s Escape in 1999.
